Photos straight off a phone are not square — they are 4:3 or 3:4. Padding them to square rather than cropping keeps the whole product visible, which matters when the product is the entire pitch.
White background on the first image only
The primary image must be on a white background. Images two onward are not restricted, and this is worth exploiting: use them for the product in use, in context, at scale, or against a colour that makes it pop.
Daraz also asks for at least three images per product. Listings with a single photo look abandoned next to competitors showing five angles.
File size matters more here than you would expect
The stated cap is 5 MB, which is not a difficult limit to stay under. The real consideration is your buyer’s connection.
A 1000 × 1000 JPEG at sensible quality is typically 200–500 KB, comfortably under the limit and quick to load on mobile data. There is very little reason to ship a 4 MB image that will take seconds to appear on the device most of your customers are actually using.
